The Opportunity

The brand is already great. The website should match it.

Fort Bedford Metal Detectors has something most online detector shops can't buy: a real story (est. 2009), a distinctive brand, authorized-dealer status with every major manufacturer, and a reputation in the relic hunting community built over 17 years.

Your customers feel that when they call you. The website is where that feeling currently gets lost — it's slow to load, hard to skim, and doesn't tell the story that separates FBMD from a big-box listing. A rebuild fixes the technical drag and puts your credibility front and center, so more visitors turn into first-time buyers — and first-time buyers into regulars.

What We Found

A quick look under the hood.

We ran a technical review of the current homepage. These aren't cosmetic nitpicks — each one costs speed, Google ranking, or sales.

966 KB

Homepage HTML alone

Nearly 1 MB of page code before a single image or script loads. Typical for a heavy page-builder setup — and painful on a phone in a field with two bars of signal.

37 + 28

Stylesheets & scripts

The homepage loads 37 CSS files and 28 JavaScript files. Every one is a round trip that delays the page — and most aren't needed.

0

H1 heading on the homepage

The homepage has no main heading — the single strongest on-page signal Google uses to understand what a page is about.

Missing

Meta description

No homepage meta description means Google writes your search listing for you — instead of a pitch that makes detectorists click.

The short version: the current Elementor + WooCommerce stack is dragging a lot of weight it doesn't need. A leaner rebuild keeps everything that works — your products, orders, and customer accounts — and sheds everything that doesn't.
What We Propose

Scope of the rebuild.

01

Design refresh built on your brand

A clean, fast design system built around your stamp logo, black-and-brick-red palette, and the relic-hunting heritage that makes FBMD memorable. No stock-template look.

02

WooCommerce storefront, streamlined

Rebuilt shop, category, and product pages with clear pricing, sale badging, and a checkout with fewer steps. Your existing products, customers, and order history carry over.

03

Speed as a feature

Cut the page weight and file count dramatically so pages load fast on any connection — better for shoppers, better for Google rankings.

04

SEO foundations done right

Proper headings, meta descriptions, product schema, and page titles on every page — so searches like "metal detector shop near me" and brand-model searches find you.

05

The story that sells

An About and homepage narrative that leads with what big boxes can't offer: 17 years in the community, real advice from real diggers, and authorized-dealer trust.

A Peek at the Direction

We already started sketching.

Below are two live homepage concepts built with your actual logo, brand colors, and current products — each with a full desktop mega menu, and an app-style bottom bar on mobile. Browse them right here, or open them full-screen.

How It Works

A simple four-step process.

01

Discovery

A call to walk through your catalog, what's working, what isn't, and what you want the store to do.

02

Design

We refine the concept into final page designs — you review and approve before any build starts.

03

Build & Migrate

The new site is built alongside the current one. Products, customers & orders move over — zero downtime.

04

Launch & Support

We launch, verify everything from search to checkout, and stay on call after go-live.

Investment

Scoped to fit, after discovery.

An e-commerce rebuild is priced by what's actually in it — catalog size, integrations like your Authorize.net payment gateway, and how much content we're writing versus moving.

No Obligation

Pricing follows the discovery call.

After a short call to walk through the store together, you'll get a fixed, itemized quote — no hourly surprises, no padded retainers. If the number doesn't work, no hard feelings.

Let's find out what's in the ground.

Grab 30 minutes with us and we'll walk through the mockup, the findings, and what a rebuild would look like for FBMD.
